If you’re having your carpets cleaned for the first time you probably have a lot of questions? Hopefully we can put your mind at rest by answering most of them for you here with our list compiled from the queries we frequently have from customers:
How long does it take to clean carpets?
This depends on the area of the carpets and the degree of soiling. We like to do a deep clean so we don’t rush. A rough estimate would be around two hours to clean a three-bedroomed house.
Do I have to move all the furniture out?
No – only your precious objects, small items and breakables. We can work over and under large pieces of furniture, taking care to protect legs and bases.
What method of cleaning do you use?
We use the latest hot water extraction cleaning method (steam cleaning), along with non-toxic cleaning agents. This enables a very deep clean, maximum water extraction, and leaves behind little to know residue.
How long does it take for the cleaned carpets to dry?
Several factors affect the drying time – the air temperature, the room’s ventilation, the length of the carpet pile, and so on. Our efficient steam cleaning system is able to remove most of the moisture from the carpets as we clean, so the natural drying process is usually not very long.
Might my carpet shrink?
This is highly unlikely, but you don’t have to worry. We are experienced professionals and can recognise which type of carpet might be prone to shrinking and take precautions against it happening.
Can you remove ingrained stains?
We can’t promise – there are some stains like fake tan solution and hair dye which are permanent, and others like coffee which we may not be able to completely remove. We do, however, have a professional stain removal system at our disposal which deals with most carpet stains and odours.
Will the carpets get dirty quicker once they’ve been cleaned?
No. This only happens when poor cleaning methods are used, leaving behind a sticky residue in the carpet fibres which attracts subsequently attracts dirt. Our cleaning system and gentle detergent ensures this doesn’t happen.
How often should carpets be cleaned?
At least once a year – twice a year if the carpeting is in a high traffic area or subject to heavy use by pets and children.
